Environmental Information Regulations 2004
What are the Environmental Information Regulations?
The Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) came into effect on 1 January 2005. The Regulations are administered by the Information Commissioners Office alongside the existing Freedom of Information and Data Protection Acts.
The Regulations require the College to respond to verbal or written requests for environmental information relating to its activities.
What is Environmental Information?
The College must respond to any requests in writing as soon as possible, but no later than 20 working days after reciept of the request (although this can be extended to 40 days for very complex requests). Requests can be made by anyone and an explanation of why the request is being made does not have to be given. A charge may be made if the information is not already publicly available.
